A House At The Oregon Coast

By Living Room Realty, June 26, 2018

Sometimes its a place that gets inside of you. A place you’ve once traveled that you can’t wait to return. My mind is filled with images of places that I would like to visit with my children. Far away places where lemurs play, fresh water jelly fish swim in blue pools and elephants roam jungles. But I also have a favorite ‘house’ — that ‘feels’ like a far away place. Only it isn’t across the globe, but instead a short 1.5 hour drive from Portland. Each time I have the chance to visit this home, it knocks my socks off. it. It is a “feel” good home that resonates wonderment..

While the landscape around the structure is breathtakingly beautiful, it is the collections inside this home that make complete sense to me. Curled kelp, glass floats, oil paintings of black mountains w/ pink reflections, carpets of ripe colors, speckled floors, wash basins bare of tile, lights with pull cords, Marlite plastic bathroom paneling and a drawer with 7 decks of cards and a handful of white candles.

The Oregon Coast — Go to it.  Find a house and rent it for a weekend.  You might just fall in love.  Just like I have.
