When it comes to investment properties, many fellow investors are looking all over Oregon, and further for that matter. Long time clients of mine were looking for 3 multifamily properties in Oregon to invest in after selling a building here in Portland. Ideally, they wanted properties close to home, which became Bend as of last year. Alternatively, they were okay with somewhere they liked to travel. The first one they picked up was a triplex in Eugene. Both clients went to the University of Oregon. They like to travel back for football games, and other stuff on campus. So, having something there felt right.
The next property was a duplex in Prineville, OR. They didn’t travel there often, but it was close to home. That coupled with being a great market for rentals right now, made it a good option. After closing, they listed a vacant unit for rent and received 75 applications.
The last property was just down the road in Bend. While this solid fourplex needed some work, it had great tenants, and would be a good one to hold onto over the years.
