What a ride! After a NYE diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia I have completed the prescribed chemo regimen with the incredible support and love of the most amazing community imaginable. Falling into cancer the very week that inklings of a global pandemic emerged wasn’t exactly on my to do list but here I am, baby, alive and flourishing because the world is damned incredible!
It may seem strange to claim good fortune in an experience like this but it’s so much the truth in my case. Beginning until now this has been a fight full of love and togetherness and it has reshaped my world in the most amazing ways. I now know that I can move forward without fear because in the eye of the storm I am so well supported. I’ve always felt confident that family and friends would show up if and when dire straights were to occur but I had no idea the amazing ways in which my business partner, colleagues and clients would surround me and show me their love and commitment within the context of supporting my business by continuing to use my services in the case of clients and/or stepping in to fill my shoes when the work has not been feasible for me in the case of my incredible team of Sean O’Feery and Nieka Rahe. As I wander now from the world of aggressive cancer treatment to watch and wait I move forward fearlessly and with excitement that I get to continue my work of service alongside such amazing humans.
