Jes & Erin’s Modern Move

By Becca Barron, December 30, 2019

It didn’t take long for these two no-nonsense buyers to find the perfect home. They started by looking at older homes and while they were all beautiful in their own right- it was the efficient modern marvel that brought them to sign, seal and deliver the winning offer.

With Jes bring an engineer that works in energy efficiency and Erin a footwear developer, this Earth advantage home was absolutely perfect for them. Earth Advantage perks: a healthier living environment, energy efficiency, limited impact on land, safe and durable materials, and reduced water consumption- winning all around!

It’s also an attached home without an HOA- making it Middle housing. When it’s done right, this model is something our city can really benefit from. While we’re short on space and housing is in high demand, this allows us to use our land efficiently and often times means buyers get to live in a close-in, hip as ever location, like this one! These plans help with the supply and choice aspects to homeownership while providing some nice pricing, mixed sizes and options, functionality, and again, availability. It’s a nice alternative to apartment or condo life and blends the lines for single family housing.

Middle housing typically offers more units (sometimes smaller), and can take different forms including rowhouses, townhouses, multiplexes, and even ADUs. One option includes courtyard style set-up with properties facing a shared outdoor space that all can enjoy. These particular buyers ended up with a private outdoor space and their own attached garage.  Lots to know about this! Want to dive in? Check out the link below.
