Communities such a Claremont Golf in Bethany literally have waiting lists of people wanting to buy in. Portland doesn’t have many of these covered, well-maintained 55+ communities, and Claremont is one of the finest! Those who live in the community are friendly and they enjoy seeing each other out walking dogs, playing golf, swimming at the pool, or having a drink together in the clubhouse on Friday nights.

Therefore, we decided to put a coming soon sign in front of the home, and then, the evening before selling this home I held an exclusive twilight open house just for the community members. It was a great way for the neighbors to bid farewell and leave best wishes for the seller – their long time neighborhood friend. Not only did this give them an opportunity to socialize, but it also created a buzz of curiosity about the home.  The following day I did an open house from 12-4pm. There was so much interest and so many offers coming in that we set a deadline for 8pm. The seller accepted an all cash, contingency-free offer and that was that!  Easy and enjoyable.
