My wonderful buyers, Chris and Clare just closed on this great place in the University Park neighborhood. After many months on the hunt and screeching around the learning curve together, we found that right fit in North Portland. This 1940’s gem needs their cosmetic love and attention but diligent inspections confirmed what we’d hoped was true—the house is solid construction worthy of investment. Not so with many other homes we viewed where fresh cosmetics couldn’t conceal the lesser quality and underlying lack of maintenance. With this house, we were fortunate with our timing–it had been priced $30k higher so when it came down to their price range, we leapt! But so did three other buying parties creating a sudden multiple offer situation– Happily, my buyers prevailed!
This house sits just south of Lombard in a pocket often called McKenna Park due to it’s proximity to the park proper. The University of Portland is nearby and the area is a great mix of quiet residential streets and access to services including New Seasons market which is right around the corner. St Johns is just minutes away and offers an even greater array of amenities.
It took us awhile to find just the right place but as I always hope is true, there is always a reason! This house is the compelling reason why it took the time that it did and I must say, completely worth the wait. Here’s to you, Chris and Clare– I really did enjoy the months together as your journey unfolded and know you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor even more!
