One of the greatest joys about the work I do is getting to play a small role in other people’s stories. I was so excited for the opportunity to work with Sarah and Sean and to help them find the perfect place to begin their Portland story together. Having met and fell in love while working in Chicago several years ago, I doubt that either of them would have pictured themselves moving across the country to start new jobs and to build a new life together, but here they are. Moving into their beautiful new home together to do just that!
When I first meet with new buyers, I always advise them to be patient with their process and that they will learn what’s most important to them and where they’ll be willing to make concessions as we look at homes together. I also tell them, that everyone’s process is different and that it may take some folks a year and several offers before they find what their looking for, while others may find their dream home on the first time out and have an accepted offer straight away. Such was the case for Sarah and Sean, they knew exactly what they were looking for, and we found it on our second trip out together. It was competitive of course, but with some careful negotiation and great communication, we were able to get their very first offer accepted!
