Lents: First Time Home Owners

By Living Room Realty, February 28, 2018

I love my job. It is the happiest feeling when I meet my customers in their brand new first home ever and see that mix of pride, accomplishment, hope and also a little bit of fear in their faces.

That is what I’ll find when I give John and Belinda the keys of their cute home in the Lents neighborhood. They have been married for 10 years and always lived in a rented apartment. The difficult rental market in Portland made them think about purchasing their own home and contacted me through a friend and past customer. Love you, Carlota!
We hit it off as soon as we meet. They are the perfect team mates, smart, focused, with realistic expectations, asking the right questions always eager to learn. Their low price point is very competitive, but we move forward relentlessly and after a second try, they get their offer accepted on a house that checks all the boxes, including a really awesome location close to all the cool development going on on Woodstock and 92nd.

My greatest reward is knowing that John and Belinda are now settled in their new home, no need to worry about skyrocketing rents anymore. They have now a place of their own with room for Belinda to garden and for John to embark in home projects. It feels great making a difference in people’s lives.
