Portland Date Night Spots

By Living Room Realty, October 4, 2019

So you’ve met someone! Maybe you’ve braved the apps, or it was a cinematic meet-cute, or you finally worked up the nerve to ask out that cute barista! Or perhaps you’ve been with your sweetie a long time, and you want to take them out somewhere special for a fun love filled night.

Portland has so many cute spots for dates – dinner, coffee, the great outdoors! You two can do anything in our lovely and romantic city. Here’s 4 of my favorite date night spots if you’re looking for some inspiration or wanting to try something new!

Sapphire Hotel – This former hotel and brothel is pure Portland. Great food, really fun cocktails, and warm and beautiful lighting. Tucked away in the Mt Tabor neighborhood on Hawthorne, it’s the sweetest little gem. Great for: romantic evenings or special occasions

Pied Cow – This is my number one recommendation for a first date! Located in a cute old Victorian house on Belmont, they’ve got an awesome outdoor space if the weather is nice and a cozy inside if it’s rainy. They have a wide selection of food and beverages, including a lot of non-alcoholic options which makes it great if you or your date don’t drink. If things are going well, there’s a wide selection of other bars and restaurants just a block up Belmont to take things to, but it’s just as nice on it’s own. Great for: first dates, a laid back cozy vibe

Hollywood Theatre – You might think going to the movies is a cliche date, but it’s a classic for a reason! Hollywood is my favorite of the Portland theaters for their selection of new and cult classic films, their nonprofit status, and killer burger next door! If you can’t eat a burger with your date, are they really for you? Great for: A low effort but very sweet date!

The International Rose Test Garden – Pack a picnic, bring your camera, and stop and smell the roses. Compare your favorites, take a leisurely walk, the options are endless! Great for: Your date who’s new to Portland
