What the area lacks in population density – and a low walk score of 65– it makes up for in ambiance. Some stretches of this intimate neighborhood decorate to win. Crime is also low compared to metrics citywide, and more than 35% of homeowners have children, making it a great destination for young families.

SELLWOOD

The self-contained nature of Sellwood makes it a wonderful destination for trick-or-treaters. Here, the festive span of Milwaukie Avenue feels like a small town, with some local business happy to participate in Halloween ritual. House here sell for an average of approximately $552,000, and fewer of these homes have children (only 26%), but walkability ranks high with a score of 92. The more commercial nature of the neighborhood does correspond with higher instance of crime, so this neighborhood may be best for families with older children and young teens.

LAURELHURST
