Smokin’ Power Couple

By Living Room Realty, September 25, 2020

Brandon has been our go to general contractor for many years now and we were so honored when he and his love Nikki reached out to us to represent them in their home search.  It was truly a very special moment for us to be the chosen ones.  During our zoom meeting to set up their initial home search criteria we knew this would be fun working along side them to find their new home, and one theme quickly started to set in: Power Couple.

Brandon had the knowledge of general home repair needs and quality and Nikki was a wizard with the numbers.  So after we all set up expectations for each other on what their were looking for in their REALTORS® and what we were looking for in them as our clients we hit the ground running. We toured a number of homes and put in an offer on a home that received multiple offers and were beat out.  The next time around Brandon and Nikki knew what they had to do to seal the deal and we won the next multiple offer situation after digging in deep.

It was late that night we when heard back that Brandon and Nikki were the chosen ones and we celebrated as a family for them.

Once in contract we pushed right into the inspections and we gathered multiple bids and gave the sellers two options to either do the repairs or credit the buyer for them. They chose the credit so both parties were very happy. Then came the next hurdle, wildfires. The home they were purchasing was in Canby and that area was evacuated. Brandon and Nikki didn’t know what was going to happen with the home and if it would be around when the fires stopped.

Thick smoke filled the air, making it hard to breath while other areas of Oregon were completely lost in flames. Whole communities were destroyed. We were all glued to our updates from the county seeing the fires grow and grow each day.

After the firefighters fought the flames back we all breathed a sigh of relieve knowing that their home was safe. And with new times, new protocols arose where we needed to get a second inspection to make sure the home was not damaged from the smoke and nearby fires for the lender to lend on the home. We had to extend closing but soon had everything wrapped up with the lender and we were on our way to the finish line.

Brandon and Nikki were able to sign and we got the good news that we were funded and recorded and the home was officially theirs!

We are so proud of you both for sticking through this wild ride and being so positive towards each other the whole way through to the end.

Cheers to you both and we look forward to see what other dragons you defeat together as a power couple!
