Quilter’s Haven in Eastmoreland Heights

By Robin Hakeman, October 24, 2018

Meet Connie and Waldo – a lovely lady who loves to quilt and her very tall (think 4 ft high) and furry dog, Waldo.

Connie often get’s the question “What’s Waldo?!” She’s not exactly sure because he is a rescue dog, but he sure is sweet. Connie and Waldo are moving to Portland in order to be closer to Connie’s daughter’s family – she will get the pleasure of helping care for her darling Granddaughter.

Connie wanted to look for a home in close in SW, Sellwood or Eastmoreland. She wanted to be close enough to her daughter’s family in Burlingame and also make sure she had plenty of space for her quilting hobby, as well as a nice yard for Waldo. Having been to a few open houses previously, Connie knew of a few homes that she liked. We spent a few nice days together seeing all of the homes on our list. After getting out-bid on a brand new listing that seemed like the perfect home, we happened upon another open house that was also a great match for Connie.

A darling bungalow with two nice bedrooms and a bathroom on the main floor, a nice kitchen with an eating nook and a lovely yard, this home also had a newly refinished basement that was exactly what Connie needed for quilting. Light is very important in Connie’s work, and this home had some natural light in the basement, along with plenty of new overhead lighting. It was perfect! This time, Connie’s offer was accepted right away and everything fell quickly into place.

Welcome to Portland Connie and Waldo!!

True job love!

One of the things Robin loves most about her work in real estate is that it never feels like "work" to her. After working as a merchandise manager for some top local apparel and home brands she found her way to real estate and will never look back. She is that rare combination of business smarts meets creativity and her skills are well suited for real estate. She has the analytical background necessary to help both buyers and sellers with numbers and negotiation, as well as the creative vision to help clients best prepare their homes for sale. As a native Oregonian, Robin has lived in NW Portland and NE Portland and the SW suburbs. She has worked in areas all over the city and has seen the changes to the area over the last 10+ years. When she's not at the office or out with clients, you can find her taking a barre3 class, hiking, enjoying family time, volunteering at a school and enjoying local theater arts. Robin is passionate about understanding the needs of each client and will work hard to help you realize your goals. She is dedicated to being a complete resource for you before, during and after your home purchase or sale. One of the aspects of this process that she values the most is the relationships she builds with her clients. Buying or selling a home can be stressful and Robin is here to work though it all with you.
