REPATRIATION

By Living Room Realty, August 24, 2021

I will often get calls and emails from buyers that do not live in the area. Either they used to live in Portland or they have always wanted to live here. Over the years I have found that you can only take it so far at distance. At some point you’ve got to come to town, tour some homes and get a feel for the place. It is possible to do remote showings after some initial work, but until then…it is all talk.

I had an email exchange with my clients Jenn & Scott at some point in early 2020. Then a few more exchanges later in the year followed by a Zoom call in spring of 2021. They were living over-seas and anticipating a return to the United States at some undetermined point.

Then I get the call: we have to repatriate in a few weeks! (it took me a minute to decipher that word; I had never heard it used in a sentence before. HA!). Game on. They got back Stateside and we got down to business touring all the good properties in their desired school districts. It took a few tries, but we got an offer accepted on a rad house in an awesome location. Welcome back home!!
