SOLD in Eliot

By Living Room Realty, November 25, 2020

We just closed the sale of this 1905  true Old Portland gem.  She’s a sweet house, with generous and gracious spaces created in an era when conversation was the pastime.  Despite the hurdles of a transaction (there were many), I am always a bit melancholy when it’s time to say goodbye to a house, especially when I helped the owners purchase. I was the buyer’s agent for my sellers when they purchased this home 17 years ago, a time of fresh beginnings for them as they made the move to Portland.

As I closed up the house, ready to turn over keys, my own memories from 2003 are vivid.  I was dating my husband then, creating our own new beginnings. I can still recall touring  him through the house as we expressed mutual appreciation for the 100 year old architecture. I think about our younger selves, more carefree, to be sure…and I am flooded with gratitude to be navigating this current, certainly less carefree world with him by my side

I won’t lie -this was a tough one and I am grateful it is done.  I am most grateful for the relief it brings for my sellers, for them to be able to step forward into their next new beginning.
