The 2-Part Home Buying & Selling Dance

By Living Room Realty, November 17, 2021

The “buy-sell/sell-buy” is an incredibly common situation in real estate. For a lot of homeowners moving can put you in an odd situation, typically one that involves heightened anxiety as you navigate the buy-sell/sell-buy dance. Do you buy your next home and then quickly try to sell your current home? Or maybe it’s the opposite, sell your current home before you can buy the next. Either way, a situation like this can come with many ins and outs that all need to come together for a successful outcome.

For my clients, we found that the sell-buy option seemed like the best route for them. We put their home on the market in late September and began our search for their first family home purchased together. Not long after our search began, we landed on a beautiful home that checked all of their wants and needs. It even had a walking path to the neighborhood school, just like the neighborhood that my client grew up in. A little tug on the heartstrings and we knew this home felt right.

Now for the hard part – the dance. Keeping two transactions together, one contingent on the other takes a whole extra level of organization, communication, and patience. We took things one step at a time, one foot in front of the other, together.

Congratulations you two, I’m so excited to see what the future brings for your family in your new home!

Looking to make a move? I’d love to work with you!
