The Burbs are Poppin’ – Where the Growth is Happening

By Living Room Realty, November 20, 2020

Hi Readers!

Hard to believe the holidays are upon us. What a year. If you’ve followed along on my  journey you’ve heard me say 2020 is truly unlike any other across the board, and that includes real estate. My colleagues and I have been consistently busy — interest rates are so low it’s still a great time to buy. The catch is, many of the buyers out there can’t find a house to purchase in close-in Portland, with rising prices and decreased inventory. Or, they are ready to get out of Dodge and find a place with room to grow. The idea of acreage, goats, a farm… dreamy, right? Or maybe that’s just me.

At any rate, the numbers are showing a substantial spike in growth in sales outside the Portland metro. FWIW, Portland’s median sales price right now is $651,750.

The hottest suburban Markets, based on Altos’ Market Action Report:

  1. Gladstone – Median price $374,900
  2. Milwaukie – Median price $485,000
  3. Beaverton – Median price $514,900
  4. Tualatin – Median price $649,950
  5. Gresham – Median price $486,000
  6. Tigard – Median price $643,900
  7. Troutdale – Median price $419,000
