I’ve never experienced a person that was so calm in the eye of a storm. I couldn’t be prouder of her through this series of events that landed us on this home (that will likely put her down in history as the world’s coolest mom). As we hunted on an extremely tight timeline for her next house to call a home, we continued to come back to one in particular that we referred to as “the basic bitch”. Showing homes with her was easy, a quick “yep” or “nope” and we were onto the next. This one home kept popping up on our list, so we decided to go check it out. The house was…. Basic! A very normal, oak filled 3 bedroom 2 bathroom layout resting on a single level. Knowing she had to find something quickly, I encouraged her not to settle- and the right home would speak to us when it was “the one”. She grinned at me as she opened the door toward the garage and I knew I had missed something.. attic stairs? Uhh no thanks.. I peered up and saw carpet and sunlight, and we giggled as we climbed the stairs into what would inevitably be the closing feature on the home. A fully finished attic, with a living room, a half bath, built in benches and a loft for a bed, tons of storage, and even a captain’s window peering out onto the street. I could envision her young son having countless adventures, slumber parties, and his own independence as he grew. She is a mother that takes such joy in her son and his wellbeing… one that goes as far as buying a home that not only suits her needs, but has a built in fantasy land that will soon be filled with imaginary dragons, submarines, pilots and ships. I simply can’t wait to see the new memories this magical room creates for the two of them. Congratulations on a wonderful home, and cheers to your next chapter! I love you both with all of my heart.
