The one that got away was probably not “the one”

It was our first time out touring, a lovely Saturday morning, first time home buyers filled with excitement and hope. We toured 4 homes that day and they fell madly in love with one.  It just so happened to be on the same street that I bought my first home over 20 years ago.  It seemed like it was meant to be. They wrote a very strong offer at a time when the market was wildly unpredictable. The nervous days waiting and then… it was rejected.  This is never fun news to deliver,  it is the thing that makes you need cake, a cake fork day.

Fast forward a couple of weeks ….when they walked through the door of their future home, it was a moment of mutual awe. I could  see them both seeing their future there, just the best!   This is the moment that makes you want a celebration cake, always a path to cake.

*bonus joy, the new house was under budget!
