The Ultimate Portland Experience: Co-housing!

By Living Room Realty, August 10, 2021

It was so fun to help my buyer transition into a new life stage, where she chose to live in the Daybreak Co-housing Community on Killingsworth in N Portland.

What’s a co-housing community?

Co-housing can come in several housing types: single family, shared yards, detached condos, or condo buildings. A running theme in co-housing feels very Portland-esque: it’s a community of shared values, where people help each other, regular meals and events are planned together. Instead of hiring an HOA management company, the community shares the work-load. Some are avid gardeners and join the gardening team, other community members run facilities. Decision-making is democratic.

As for extra amenities…at Daybreak, a guest space, yoga room, meeting room, and commercial kitchen, there are so many possibilities to share spaces and share community. Of course, with Covid, our sense of community has shifted and we’ve learned how to rely on people that live close, a reminder of how important our neighbors really are.

Congratulations!

xoxo
