These are not my clients…

By Chad Meier, November 8, 2020

Pictured here? Why a pair of happy 1st-time homeowners of course!

“Some will run from the fire, while others run toward the source of the smoke.”

My clients had already moved on to another state & didn’t harbor a lot of sentimentality for this humble 3-bedroom/2-bathroom ranch that I just sold for them last week. In fact, they never ever lived there. Just another set of ma & pa investors who have decided that Portland’s newly developed rules governing the landlord/tenant relationship were not to their liking anymore.

But oh joy for these buyers!

Of course there were a few big challenges to overcome on the way to the smiles you see above. But that’s not unusual; There’s usually at least one whopper in any transaction. Yet in the end, everyone got what they wanted largely because their proxies played hard, but fair (and with empathy for the other side).

They say that real estate is not for the faint of heart, but I wouldn’t trade what I do for the world!
