What’s Up in West Linn?

By Shannon Ilas, June 20, 2023

Why West Linn?

I currently live in West Linn and love its small town feel, yet it’s close enough to all the action in Portland.  Here are my top 10 reasons for thinking about West Linn for your next move:

  1. Friendly, safe community that truly cares about each other
  2. World-class dining, theater and nightlife is 25 minutes away in Portland
  3. Top-rated schools (High school is in the top 4 of the state)
  4. Outdoor recreational activities close by (Mt. Hood is only an hour away!), including the Oregon Golf Club
  5. In between 2 rivers (Willamette and Tualatin)
  6. 26 parks within a 7-mile radius with trails and natural scenic beauty (Mary S Young and Willamette Park are my favorites)
  7. Easy to put in your boat, kayak or paddle board on the river
  8. Excellent local dining options, including the new Willamette Garage Food Trucks
  9. Several local wineries nearby:  Tumwater, Pete’s Mountain and Oswego Hills
  10. Easy access to the freeway to head out to the Willamette Valley Wine Country, central Oregon, Vancouver, or where ever your heart takes you

I am a full service agent, ready to serve you at the highest level.

My husband Randy and I have three daughters, a white fluffy dog named Daisy and a bearded dragon named Mango. We live in West Linn, a suburb south of Portland.  I’ve connected deeply to the community here, so you’ll often find me handing out pizza at the PTA movie night, sitting on the local Economic Development Committee, or just putting my kayak in at the Willamette River. I also support women entrepreneurs with a networking group, The Spark Roundtable. As a native of Northern California, I spent my childhood at the foot of Mt Shasta and in Southern Oregon.  Life took me to Southern CA, where I earned an MBA in marketing from San Diego State and taught English as a second language for many years. We relocated to Oregon 7 years ago and I finally feel home. My life’s work has been as a guide to people from a variety of cultures to achieve their dreams, first as a teacher and then realtor, so diversity and inclusion are at the heart of my service. I understand the types of questions and concerns you might have, whether this is your first home or 25th. I’ve helped many clients relocate to the Portland metro area or move to their next location. I would love to help you do the same! Broker in WA
