One of the greatest things that I have discovered over the course of my time in this business is the beauty of working by referral. The implicit trust of having a mutual contact that can vouch for both parties is huge but really, the coolest thing about it is that friends of friends are often super excellent people that are not only a lot of fun to work with but who often become friends in their own right. Lauren and Nathan are such a shining example of this. Despite knowing that I was suffering with severe health problems that would require me to enlist the help of others for all things boots on the ground, from the very beginning they believed in my process based upon our mutual friend’s description of my work ethic.
Nathan and Lauren came into the market as buyers during an incredibly tight time and over the course of their 3 months spent looking they offered on over 10 homes competing against more than 20 offers on multiple occasions. Although their hearts were repeatedly broken finding out that they’d once again been offered back up position or that they came in 3rd out of 25, their incredible grace, patience and generosity continued. Instead of breaking down they got back out there the next weekend and again the next and always with amazing attitudes. Instead of expressing frustration they showed up at my doorstep with smiles of gratitude and sheetpans of food for me and my mom who has provided my care as I’ve continued into year two of a cancer battle. In addition to winning an incredible house due to their commitment to their goals, their constant kindness and stand up communication, these features were also of great aid in the negotiation process.
I am so honored to have served this amazing couple and I am so grateful to our friend Sarah for having introduced us. It is my hope that as my healing continues as well as that of the greater world I’ll get to spend a lot more time with this incredibly lovely couple who I have the great fortune to now call friends.
