Joy does not express enough what I feel for my clients Davíd, Luz and their 2 children in finding the right home for their family. A few months ago I received a call from Yvette Davis at PCRI asking if I spoke spanish. She had a client in their home ownership program who’s wife only spoke spanish. They were approved Deona DeLong with HomeStreet Bank and ready to start home shopping. I let her know I was fluent in spanish and would be happy to be their realtor. Within minutes Luz called me and we set up some time to connect so I could go over the process with her and her husband. They were willing to settle for a 2 bedroom 1 bath but preferred a home with 3 bedrooms, garage, yard for the kids and preferred in SE so Davíd would be close to work. Their approval was for $315,000. Our first outing we saw a few homes but none would meet financing requirements. We remained hopeful and continued our search. Knowing it was going to be challenging I reached out to Yvette and said “I can find them a home but I need money and a higher approval, what funds are still available?” “I can possibly get them some DPAL funds but you are limited to Lents”. YES, they’ll take it! I then called Deona, who was also making phone calls to find additional funds, and soon I had a pre approval for $390,000. I can work with that. Eight days later we were in contract on a 3 bedroom 1 bath home with a huge back yard for $375,000. I cried. Today we closed on their home and in 3 days I get to present them with the keys to their first home. Felicidades Davíd y Luz lograron el sueño americano de ser proprietarios de vivienda!
