Grant is one of those people who just exudes kindness. He has a big smile and a gentle nature and is the kind of person that you like right away. It was no surprise that his fiancee, Sonia, is also a sweetheart. These two lovely souls were looking to buy their first home together before the wedding and I was thrilled to help them look. We took some time to refine exactly what they wanted: was it a big house with high end finishes? Nope. Their priority was having a space where mom could comfortably stay when she comes to visit. Because OF COURSE Grant and his mom have the sweetest, loveliest relationship.
Grant and Sonia have been living in a little apartment and mom has had to rent an Airbnb every time she visits, which is a financial strain. So we set out to find this couple a home close to Sonia’s work (of course this lovely soul is a teacher) with a lot big enough to build an ADU on it. That was about all they asked for: close to work, within budget, big lot for an ADU. Easy enough! We found a great property that fit the bill and were able to snag it for under asking price. Grant knows that he can make the house into something great (he’s a carpenter after all) so he and Sonia didn’t mind knowing that it needs some repairs. Especially since we were able to negotiate a generous credit during their inspection period.
Grant and Sonia closed on their first home today! Now they get to plan and build their ADU for mom. Covid-19 is preventing me from giving them big hugs today but I couldn’t be prouder of these two! I’m giving them hugs in spirit.
