A Year of Gratitude: Reflections from Our Team
As this year comes to a close, gratitude feels like the perfect place to begin. When you spend your days helping people navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives, the word thankful can start to feel routine—but this year reminded us just how meaningful this work really is.
This reflection comes from our buy-side team, but it’s rooted in something bigger: the people, culture, and foundation that made our growth possible. Here’s a look back from the buyer team.

Gratitude with a side of puppy photos
This work year, I’m feeling incredibly grateful.
Team synergy is the foundation of everything we do—and also the reason we genuinely enjoy our days. Whether we’re sending puppy and kitten photos, coordinating tours and inspections, sharing wisdom and humor, or jumping in to support one another when things get busy, we stay deeply connected. Jenessa has been my rock for the past seven years—keeping us anchored, organized, and making sure every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed (often with a perfectly timed witty comeback). Sofi joined us this year and brought not only an incredible work ethic and heart for clients, but also daily joy—especially in the form of videos featuring whatever surprise made her jump while filming a house that day.
That kind of connection made it possible for us to continue serving at a high level—and finally achieve a long-time goal of mine: taking an entire month off to travel. This is exactly why we built our team the way we did. With three amazing Realtors working together, no one is ever left holding it all when someone steps away.
I’m endlessly grateful for our clients. Being trusted with life-changing moments—from first homes to investment properties, from growing families to age-in-place transitions—never stops feeling like an honor.
This year we helped 33 families find homes—without constant chaos, burnout, or running on empty. That balance didn’t happen by accident. It came from strong systems, mutual trust, and a team that truly has each other’s backs.

Finding joy in collaboration and connection
What a year.
Back in March, I joined forces with a spectacular group of people, and I couldn’t be happier with where I’ve landed. Jessica and Jenessa have been such breaths of fresh air in an industry that can often feel imbalanced, stressful, and pretty stinkin’ lonely. Finding a team rooted in collaboration, trust, and genuine care made everything click into place.
As I reflect on the year, what stands out most is the people we’ve had the privilege of serving. Every conversation, showing, and closing represents a family, an individual, or a next chapter that we’re trusted to help guide. That trust is something I never take lightly—and it’s what motivates me to show up every day.
Working alongside such thoughtful, hardworking professionals has been a gift. Jessica is a true master in the field, and learning alongside her has been the highlight of my real estate experience so far. Jenessa brings a cool, calm, and collected presence that creates clarity and confidence when it matters most. Together, we’ve supported one another through challenges, celebrated wins big and small, and built a culture that always puts the client experience first.

The culture behind the joy
The authenticity and heart Jessica and Karim have brought to this work since they started this team is reflected in the wonderful people we get to work with. When you love what you do, it is magnetic and that is what I’m grateful for—that the foundation of our team is the real life human values of some of the best people I know. It makes work a joy and leaves room for everyone to show up as their whole selves.
Also, we added the amazing Sofi to the team this year! Not only is she a kickass agent and smart cookie, but she’s got a killer sense of humor. I’m grateful that Jessica and Sofi make me snort laugh regularly.

Before this buy-side group came together, Karim and I were laying the groundwork—building trust, setting standards, and shaping a culture rooted in service and care. Our growth wouldn’t have been possible without that original foundation, and Karim Alaeddine continues to bring us together through his intuition, thoughtful counsel, fierce Realtor skills, and unmistakable “I’m here for you—let’s figure it out” spirit.
Kim Parmon and Andee Zeigler are the dynamic duo leading—and absolutely slaying—the listing side of our team.
Their thoughtful guidance, deep market knowledge, and commitment to serving clients as whole humans (not transactions) set the standard for how we show up. Kim’s leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering dedication to client care raise the bar for excellence, while Andee’s calm presence, local expertise, and ability to guide clients through complex transitions with clarity and compassion continue to shape how we support both our clients and one another.
This team was built intentionally—layer by layer, relationship by relationship—and we’re deeply grateful for the people who planted the seeds that allowed it to grow.
Looking Ahead

Oregon is where Jessica’s heart lies. Born and raised in Portland, Jessica grew up in Concordia and bought her first home in North Portland in 1996. She was seduced by the front porch of a 1920’s bungalow and as a young 20 year old there were so many factors she did not know to take into consideration when choosing her home. After 5 years of restoring the home, it was time to move and the seed had been planted – her love of restoring homes was born. It took a few more projects and years for her to make the choice to enter Real Estate. In 2006 she got her license and set out to empower people with information and encourage inquiry beyond the basic needs in a home, which was something she wished was provided to her when she bought her first home. As her Real Estate career developed she found joy in helping buyers the most, which led her to specialize in buyer representation.
Jessica loves helping buyers consider all angles, future needs, and possible roadblocks in a home. Her goal is to empower a buyer with choices and to consider the unchangeable elements of a home to better ensure many years of happiness in their new home. Buying right is the most important factor to protecting your investment and she takes this very seriously, which is why helping buyers eliminate homes in order to get to the right one is her top priority. She believes wholeheartedly in the power of investing in real estate. She brings this wealth of technical housing knowledge, intimate familiarity with the city, and investment experience to her counsel for homebuyers, but it is her commitment to buyer advocacy (and seeing the impact this has on people's lives) that most inspires her and has kept her engaged and in love with her job after all these years.

As someone who loves community, good food, and time spent outdoors, I’m proud to help others find their place here in the Pacific Northwest. I specialize in working with first-time home buyers, those looking to navigate purchasing a home while needing to sell their current, and folks exploring creative real estate investment avenues—like rentals and other income-generating properties.
For my clients, I bring a deep understanding of the Portland market, and click particularly well with those who may appreciate a patient, data-driven, low-pressure approach.
I attended Milwaukie High School (Mustang bred!) and stayed local to attend Oregon Health & Science University-Portland State University’s School of Public Health. There, I attended the Honors College and obtained my B.S. in Applied Health and Fitness. I loved my studies at university (and still incredibly passionate about all things health & wellness), but my part-time job as a leasing agent opened my eyes to the world of Property Management and Real Estate — and I was hooked. From there, I spent a few years in property management and then obtained my real estate license. Having grown up in Milwaukie, Oregon, and now living in Portland, I bring local expertise and a love for this area to every interaction.
With a blend of real estate know-how, Airbnb/Property Management experience, and a genuine passion for helping others, I’m excited to guide you through your Portland real estate journey. When I’m not meeting with clients, you’ll find me exploring the outdoors, caring over my houseplants, or at the gym (my primary outlet for stress!!).

When I first joined our team in 2019, I had been feeling dispirited about real estate. I'd been a realtor for several years and had a strong desire to find increased meaning within an industry that didn't always reflect my values. The thing that kept me returning to real estate despite this was the zing of happiness I felt when I helped clients through the home-buying process and witnessed them on the other end having accomplished a dream or otherwise been empowered. To me, the role of a realtor is one of stewardship. I am proud to be on this team because the level of informed honesty, ethical counsel, and all-around excellence we offer is truly unparalleled in this industry.
Working as the Operations Manager on our buyer team means I get to focus on all my favorite parts of the job. I'm hyper-attentive to detail and delight in tending to nuance; transparency and communication are critical. If you are at ease knowing the train is running smoothly, and if I answer your questions (maybe even before you've thought of them), then I've done my job well. I'm an introspective person and I view my sensitivity as a strength. I enjoy listening and taking the time to thoughtfully respond so we can move through the home-buying process with intention together. I think searching for a home is about identifying your fundamental values and assessing how the decision you make about where you live can best support the life you want to lead.
On the more personal side, when I'm not working, I'm probably writing or thinking about language. Give me a stack of good books and I'm happy. I'm a creative thinker and a maker - I love great design and discovering new outlets for expression. I don't ever want to stop learning. Putting my hands in dirt is just about the most invigorating thing I can think of, and my little garden is my sanctuary. I like to dance at home so freely that it makes other people laugh. I love to sing. I freaking love my family.
