My phone rang as I was heading over to host the first open house at my new listing on a bright sunny September Saturday. The owners had found a gorgeous house on acreage inside Portland city limits and jumped at the chance to build their dream dirt bike track in the “backyard”. Once we closed on that new home and had them happily moved in, we put their darling 2 bedroom farmhouse on the market.
As soon as their farmhouse listed, I started receiving calls from agents interested in scheduling visits for their buyers. Expecting a busy day with booked showings at the house, I was happy to discover the couple who was calling me, were reaching out in hopes of seeing it that day and were calling to come visit during the open. From the moment I met Nicole and Tyson, I felt an immediate connection to them. After walking through the house together, we sat down to talk and I learned they, like me, had been born and raised in Oregon and had spent some time living in Brooklyn, NY. They are artists and had come home to Portland to be closer to family. They wanted a house in SE, something with a large yard and lots of natural light.
While my clients’ farmhouse didn’t end up working out, they kept my card and reached out to me a few weeks later when they saw another sweet listing come to market. We began touring homes together and saw a number of options, but nothing quite felt right. Then we found another turn of the century farmhouse on a large lot on the same street that we had met at, back at my open house. With three nice bedrooms, big picture windows, and a full basement on a corner lot, Nicole and Tyson knew this was what they had been hoping for!
We were so happy to get into contract with the great selling team, had a very successful inspection period, and our incredible local lender even had us ready to close 4 days early! A huge Congratulations to Tyson and Nicole on this dreamy find. It’s been so special working together, and I can’t wait to come visit to see all the stunning touches you will bring to this home.
