On A Mission

By Living Room Realty, August 9, 2018

Jane and Cameron were looking to pull off the sell/buy and move into a house that was better suited for their growing family. We listed their home in SE Portland in late June and had it under contract in about two weeks. See CLOSE -IN LIVING AT ITS FINEST for more info on that one. With that house pending, they were ready to get serious about the new home search so we put a date on the calendar to go check out some properties. There were about a dozen homes on their initial list; typically I only like to show a max of 6 to 8 on the initial outing. I’ve found that everyone starts to glaze over after looking at that many.

When I tried to narrow the list, they reminded me that they were going to be out of town for the following 3 weekends and this was their best chance to get the job done. And they had solid child care for the day. Jane told me: our goal is to write an offer today! So I adjusted my standards and agreed to show a bunch of homes all over Lake Oswego and NW/SW Portland.

There were a few that stood to out me…but there was one that was a winner to them. The one that they wrote an offer on and ultimately got excepted is pretty unique. It is in the Bridlemile Elementary school district, north of Hwy 26 and less than $600k which is rare for that area. We overcame all of the inspection hurdles and are moving forward towards closing!
