Ready for more space to work and learn from home

By Cristen Lincoln, September 15, 2020

A pandemic can change the way one views their home. Bronson and Marisa were both working from home, as many of us are, while also helping their child home school, and caring for two dogs. After months of functioning in their small SW townhome, it became clear that it was time for more elbow room, a walking neighborhood and some yard space! They were referred to me by a friend, and we connected immediately! Bright, optimistic and good humored, Bronson and Marisa have been a joy to work with. They entered the housing market with a goal of getting an environmentally friendly home, with a great kitchen, room for everyone to work and learn from home, a yard for pups and gardens and in a good walking area. They did their homework and knew it was competitive out there, so we talked through in advance some of the options we have when writing an offer when we are competing. They were ready! They entered the market, very clear on objectives and the importance of being timely. On the first day out, a new listing came up that literally checked each and every box on the wish list. It was priced in their comfort zone. As expected, they were not the only buyers who fell in love with the amazingly well kept bungalow with gorgeous custom kitchen, wood floors, solar panels, electric car plug in and great yard. Many times, a buyer has to go through the process of getting an offer rejected, to really get a feel for what does or doesn’t work when competing. Not Bronson and Marisa! They loved this home, and because they were so prepared, they were mentally in a space to understand that they needed to be really aggressive to be sure to secure it. There were 6 offers in total, and it came down to them and another buyer. With a moment’s notice we updated the offer, and answered questions. We all were on standby to do what it would take to get the house! Finally we got the great news that it was theirs! Throughout the entire process, we worked as a great team, problem solving and keeping the big picture in mind and things moving forward. Now we are at the finish line, and soon they will have the keys to their very special home! We couldn’t be more excited for them!
