Took A Bird To A Showing

By Living Room Realty, August 28, 2018

Be forewarned this is a bit of a ramble. Had a weird week or so, and I’m feeling a little reflective. One thing about being a REALTOR® is you’re always a little in touch with how others perceive you. As a young REALTOR® at the beginning of my career I bought into that idea and would wear a button up and slacks each day. It helped a bit that it was part of the culture of my last brokerage. As I’ve gotten more comfortable with my abilities as an agent, I’ve also gotten more comfortable in my own skin and really letting my clients see my genuine personality.

Anyways, last week I was in a car accident. Yes, I’m alright. The other person involved is also alright. She is also an absolute sweetheart. Seriously, I don’t wish a car accident upon anyone, but really happy that she was the person who crashed into me. It made the experience about as good as it possibly could be to work with a reasonable person. This is especially true after hearing about shit like this, just days after my accident.

Annnnyways, so after I get into the accident, I had my car towed by the Towing Less company. Not two hours into me wallowing in my own self pity, I get a text from Living Room’s very own Lissa Moon Lacroix, who just dropped a beaut of a Bungalo in Concordia with Becca Barron. They have an interested buyer who wants to see the place, but wasn’t represented.

What amazing homies, right? BUT, I was like, “shit! I totally would but my car just went to the shop.” And Lissa was like “dude, it’s a $600,000 house.” And I was like “You right.”

So I started getting ready and was about to walk to the house or order a lyft. But, as I was walking out of my house, I saw a Bird scooter outside on the sidewalk. For those of you that haven’t heard of Bird, or Lime, or Skip, you really should have heard about them by now. Anyways, I thought to myself, “what would this guy, who I’ve never met, think of a REALTOR® pulling up to a showing on a fuggin motorized scooter?” And then I thought, “who cares?” And Birded myself to the showing! The showing didn’t work out, but it was a great conversation starter with him. I don’t think I’m going to be hearing from him again, but at least I’m confident enough in myself to not take things like how I get to a showing too seriously.

Summary: Motorized Scooters Are Fun. Also, Lissa and Becca’s listing is already pending, so you missed out. Also, huge shout out to Chris Schwab, who’s letting me borrow his car until mine gets fixed up! This Real Estate community can be really awesome.

Ramble Over.
