Tracey Henkels attributes her disciplined nature and relentless work ethic and to a childhood spent rising and retiring by the light of the sun, on her family’s apple orchard in Iowa. Gratefully, that Midwestern mentality has served her well over the years, and Tracey continues to deliver excellent customer service, superior technical skill, and a wide array of industry knowledge both directly and on behalf of her clients.
While Tracey wouldn’t trade her career as a Real Estate broker for any other, her first love was actually Architecture, a craft she studied at Iowa State University during her undergraduate years.
After receiving her degree, Tracey worked as an Architect for over 6 years before deciding she wanted to forge a new professional path. In 2004, Tracey jumped heart-first into the world of buying and selling houses, and is proud to say, she’s never looked back.
When you meet Tracey, one of the first things you notice is her positive energy, and zest for life. One of her favorite things about being a broker is the ability to help people make powerful transitions in their lives. Tracey’s natural patience, unwavering professionalism, and optimistic attitude make her a both a compassionate broker, and tough negotiator.
Tracey is committed to serving others, being involved in her community, and giving back. When she isn’t working hard to best serve her clients, you might find her tending to her garden, growing fresh vegetables, exotic plants, and beautiful flowers, apprenticing a professional woodworker making fine furniture, or planning her next exciting adventure with her wife, Bernadette.
My husband Jay and I have had the pleasure of working with Tracey a number of times over the past few years. With Tracey's help, our current house is pending sale (in one week) and we are searching with her for our new home . We also bought a rental house a couple years back with Tracey as our realtor. Tracey's an expert at what she does. I'm a bit of a control freak and when I say she's one of the few people in my experience whom I trust to handle things, that's saying something. She's trustworthy, and eminently knowledgeable in her field. Besides her professionalism, she has a deeper knowledge of houses than most because of her background as an architect. Her eye is impeccable. She was invaluable in the staging of our house for sale, going above and beyond in helping to bring out the best in our home. Tracey's always easy to reach, quick to respond to messages and set up showings (and get you to them), and good company in general. When it comes to the business side of things, you're in expert hands and feel secure that she's got an eagle eye on the details and negotiations. She's a true advocate for her clients and an honest, candid person; a good person. I'm not the easiest person in the world and it's a testimony to Tracey's character that she remains ever cheerful, helpful and professional, despite the vicissitudes of the real estate business and the many moods of me. Jay and I can't recommend her highly enough.
Tracey is a passionate, committed and extremely knowledgeable realtor. My husband and I had a blast working with her to find our perfect home. We were greatly impressed by her extensive knowledge of green building materials and sustainable practices which enabled her to deeply analyze each home we looked at. We felt confident throughout the process that she was always considering our needs and desires and guiding us toward a purchase that made sense: environmentally, financially and practically. Tracey could always be reached promptly for any kind of question and continued to support us long after the date of sale. She continued to be involved with our process of setting up our new home in all kinds of ways from giving us locally made, environmentally friendly detergents and tips on making the house more energy efficient, to helping us to find and get in touch with the best contractors and repair people in town to continue to improve our home. We could not recommend Tracey more highly as a realtor who works from a place of deep integrity and commitment to her clients and community.
