Hollywood Here I Come!

Wow. This truly stunning home located in Hollywood/Grant Park has undergone a complete designer remodel that successfully preserved it’s beauty as a 1915 bungalow. The home is full of  light filled spaces that feel warm and comfortable, even on the rainiest of days. Your eye will be drawn to the custom cabinets and lighting, restored wood windows, restored hardware, and beautiful hardwood floors. Behind the scenes new plumbing, sewer, wiring and electrical panel, water main, HVAC system, radon system, and earthquake retrofit will keep your mind at ease! And just when you thought it couldn’t get better you’ll find the separate living space in the basement with it’s own laundry, full bath and private entrance.

One thing always leads to another…

Early one morning I was working out in my garage, panting, face looking like a tomato and somebody starts knocking on the garage door. Very confused (who even knows I go in there?) I managed to extract myself and open the door – and there was my neighbor! He had a friend who needed to find a place in short order and needed a REALTOR®. Perfect – it just so happens that’s what I do! We chatted that day, talked about all of the things, and immediately knew this was going to be a good  fit. Fast forward a couple of weeks and my client’s offer was accepted on this dreamy 1960 split level home in NE Portland!

We navigated the process of inspections and repairs with masks, maintained social distancing, and used safest possible practices. Hello disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer! It’s been an interesting journey, but one that made me realize we really can do what we’re doing in a responsible way. Housing is essential, it’s an important issue to me, and it feels good to be working thoughtfully to keep my community safe.

This week I will have the fortune to toss the new keys to my client and let him get on with enjoying his new home!

Librarians Rule!

Let the record show, I love all my clients. That being said, my Frient™ (Friend who’s also a Client), Katie is in a word “excelsior”.

Katie and I first started talking several months back when she told me she was ready to move out of her adorable condo. She had spent over a decade there and was ready to find herself a stunning Mid-Century Modern home with a yard for her dog, Willa (pictured… can you find her?). After a few unfortunate misses we found the ‘cream puff’; this Woodlawn MCM checked all the boxes and with a compelling, no regrets offer (She also wrote what may have been one of the best buyer letters I have ever read. Seriously.), we got Katie her dream home! 

Did I mention Katie is a librarian? Librarians are pretty darn cool.
